In brief: BingX is an international crypto exchange operating since 2018, registered in the British Virgin Islands and built around copy trading and perpetual futures. Spot costs 0.1% / 0.1% and perpetual futures 0.02% / 0.05% (VIP0), registration from Russia is open and rubles come in only through P2P; there is no CASP license under MiCA, and the exchange is not on the Bank of Russia registers under Law 282-FZ. What users write and why Trustpilot gives 1.6 while TradingView gives 4.4 is covered in the BingX user reviews.

The gap is telling: spot is measured in hundreds of millions of dollars, derivatives in billions. BingX is first and foremost a perpetual contracts venue. In the "2026 State of Crypto Perpetuals" report that CoinGecko published jointly with BingX itself (released 21 May 2026), the exchange claims derivatives growth of more than 66% year on year and 565 new perpetual contracts since 2025. The report is a partnership piece, so it should be read with the platform's interest in mind.

Does BingX work in Russia in September 2026

Russia is not on BingX's list of prohibited jurisdictions. According to the Datawallet review (revised 16 July 2026), the exchange does not serve the US, the UK, Canada, Singapore, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China and sanctioned countries such as Iran and North Korea. The interface is available in Russian, and registration works by email or phone number, including Russian numbers (Profinvestment, updated 29 December 2025).

Verification. You cannot use the exchange fully anonymously, but formally KYC is not required for everything. According to the official BingX help article "KYC Benefits and Advantages at Different Levels", without verification fiat services, P2P, Launchpad and Wealth products are unavailable, and crypto withdrawals are capped at 20,000 USDT per 24 hours. Advanced KYC (a document plus facial recognition) removes deposit limits, raises withdrawals to 5,000,000 USDT per day and unlocks fiat and P2P. The exchange tightened its KYC policy on 19 November 2024, rolling out the changes in stages by region (same source).

Rubles. There is no direct deposit or withdrawal to Russian bank cards. There is one scheme: USDT is bought for rubles on P2P and then exchanged for the coin you need. Sber, T-Bank and transfers via SBP (Faster Payments System) are supported, and the crypto is held in escrow until the payment is confirmed. Withdrawal is the mirror operation.

The legal side. Since 1 September 2026, Federal Law No. 282-FZ of 4 August 2026 "On Digital Currencies and Digital Rights" has been in force: digital currency is recognized as property, owning and trading it is allowed, paying with it inside the country is not. The infrastructure is built around the Bank of Russia registers, and BingX, like other foreign platforms, is not on them. From 1 July 2027 the law brings in the obligation for residents to transact only through licensed intermediaries and the division of investors into qualified and non-qualified. Separately, the RUB 300,000 annual limit per intermediary for non-qualified investors after testing and the list of cryptocurrencies admitted to public circulation (bitcoin, ether, Tether USDT) are set out in a draft Bank of Russia ordinance of 11 August 2026; the final version has not been approved, and it will apply no earlier than 1 July 2027. BingX's spot fee is market-standard, its futures fee competitive. But for a Russian user the real cost is determined not by the fee but by the P2P spread and the network fee: USDT on the Ethereum network costs several times more than on TRON or BNB Chain.

Products: copy trading, derivatives, bots, Earn

  • Spot. 604 coins and 617 pairs (CoinGecko, 15 September 2026); CoinMarketCap lists "more than 700". BTC/USDT accounts for about $43 million of the $101.8 million daily turnover, so liquidity outside the top pairs is noticeably lower than at the market leaders.
  • Derivatives. USDT-M, Coin-M and USDC-M perpetual contracts plus standard futures; maximum leverage of up to 125x on major pairs (Profinvestment, 29 December 2025).
  • Copy trading is the headline feature: a leaderboard of lead traders with returns, drawdown and follower counts, with subscriptions starting from small amounts.
  • Bots and more: grid strategies, martingale, signal trading, Earn savings and dual products, loans, a demo account with VST tokens, and a TradFi line (stocks, indices, metals).

On risk. Leveraged futures and copy trading carry the risk of losing the entire deposit. At 125x leverage, a price move of roughly 0.8% against the position wipes out the margin, before fees and the funding rate. Copy trading does not remove the risk but hands it to someone else's decision: a lead trader's public returns describe the past, and one episode of elevated risk on their part becomes your drawdown. We covered the math separately in leverage and liquidation.

Security: the 2024 hack, reserves, insurance fund

The hack of 20 September 2024. The attack hit a hot wallet. ForkLog estimated losses at more than $43 million, Xakep (24 September 2024) at $44 million. The first wave of outflows was about $26 million, and a few hours later roughly another $16.5 million left; the stolen assets included ETH, BNB, USDT and about 360 altcoins. Cold wallets were unaffected, the exchange suspended withdrawals, then resumed operations and announced full compensation (BeInCrypto). Some of the negative reviews on review sites are dated precisely to autumn 2024.

Shield Fund. On 5 June 2025 BingX announced a permanent $150 million insurance fund, described in the release as a "self-funded reserve" for cyber threats and extreme volatility, without a classic insurance model and without external audit.

Proof of Reserves. At the end of July 2026 a Trust Center with reserve data was launched (press release of 30 July 2026). Reports are published monthly using a Merkle tree; as of the 15 July 2026 snapshot the reserve ratios were: BTC 142.82%, ETH 126.48%, USDT 131.83%, USDC 124.41%.

Regulation. BingX has no CASP license under MiCA: the exchange is not in the ESMA register (CASP Tracker check of 11 September 2026). The company itself reported on 16 June 2026 that BingX EU had filed an application with Austria's FMA and that the process was at an advanced stage. What this changes for the EU market is in MiCA and crypto exchanges.

Pros and cons of BingX

Pros: one of the most developed copy trading modules with transparent metrics; competitive perpetuals fees and high derivatives turnover; a fully Russian-language interface and P2P with rubles (Sber, T-Bank, SBP); monthly Proof of Reserves with ratios above 100% and a declared $150 million fund; high app ratings of 4.5 on Google Play and 4.6 on the App Store.

Cons: low scores on complaint-driven sites, 1.6 on Trustpilot and 1.7 on Otzovik (more in the BingX user reviews); regular reports of frozen withdrawals and account restrictions after bonus promotions; no CASP license under MiCA and an offshore jurisdiction; spot liquidity outside the top pairs is lower than at the largest exchanges; a hot wallet hack in September 2024; no Russian legal status.

FAQ

How do I withdraw rubles from BingX? There is no direct withdrawal to Russian cards: you need to sell USDT for rubles on P2P, placing the coins in escrow and confirming receipt of the transfer to your card or via SBP. Advanced verification is required to access P2P.

Do I need a VPN from Russia? According to availability reviews (Profinvestment, 29 December 2025; Datawallet, 16 July 2026), Russia is not on the list of prohibited jurisdictions and access is open without a VPN. Conditions may change, so check the Announcements section before a large deposit.

Is copy trading on BingX safe? Technically it is a standard feature; financially it is a full trading risk: you copy leveraged trades and inherit the lead trader's drawdown, and the performance fee reduces your profit but does not compensate your loss.

Did the exchange return funds after the 2024 hack? BingX announced full compensation to users and resumed operations after the attack of 20 September 2024. There is no independent public audit of the payouts, only the platform's own statements.

Is income from BingX taxed? Yes, income from digital currency transactions is subject to personal income tax (NDFL) regardless of the platform, and the exchange does not act as a tax agent. The procedure is in crypto tax for individuals in 2026.
